Jeffree Star pulled back the curtain on his dating rumours with Kanye West that came afloat a while back.
Initially, Jeffree Star flat-out denied hooking up with Kanye West. He called it, “the dumbest shit I think I’ve ever read my entire life.” Kris Jenner apparently thought so, too, and sent the TikToker in question a cease-and-desist letter. But nowadays, Star is reflecting on the rumor in a more forgiving light. He told ET Online:
I thought it was hilarious. I love rumors. I think they’re funny, but some girl on TikTok made it up and it went viral before I even knew.
As Jeffree Star describes it, him finding out about the rumor was indeed hilarious. He said his mom was shocked and was the first one to ask him about it. Star rationalized that the hook-up idea must have come about because both of them used to live in the Hidden Hills area of California and both ended up moving to Wyoming. Still, Star must have loved that Kanye West rumor, if only because he claimed later on that it benefited his love life. The YouTube star, perhaps jokingly, said that “the number of rappers” in his DMs was “wilddddd.”
However, the Jeffree Star rumors clearly didn’t behoove Kanye West. Another TikTok influencer, Cole Carrigan, came forward and stated that West’s former bodyguard arranged a meeting at a hotel between him and West. With this, Carrigan was issued a cease-and-desist letter and forced to publicly apologize to both Kanye and Kim.
Before the Jeffree Star hookup allegations, rumors had already been brewing for quite some time that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s relationship was heading for divorce. In February, only a month after the TikTok snafu, it was reported that Kardashian was filing for divorce, although she claimed recently in the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion that it was due to “a general difference of opinions.” Of late, rumors claim that West has been dating model Irina Shayk but, apparently Jeffree Star still wouldn’t consider dating West. He said:
I know it sounds fun, but I prefer taller rappers and that’s that. That’s on that. Look how tall I am. I can’t. … Listen, we don’t have to collab sexually, but if we want to collab with Yeezys, you know my address.
It’s an odd world we live in where a wild hookup rumor with a celebrity can easily turn into a brand collaboration. However,, it’s doubtful that Kanye West would accept Jeffree Star’s suggestion – and invite even more speculation into his life.
